If you are looking for something more exotic you should visit Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai on the north, places that have almost unreal mountain views and very rich history that will fascinate you.

The ruins of the ancient city of Sukothai will present you the glorious past of Thailand and if you want to find out more about the past travel to Ayuttahaya . If you feel adventurous visit the less known cities of Buriram and Loei. They are becoming popular among tourists in the recent years.

Did you know that some battles from the Second World War took place here? If you want to find a place that is still witnessing that period, go to Kanchanaburi. There are interesting places all over Thailand but sometimes you should make your own trips because they are not part of organized tours.

Hua Hin is a really popular resort town among Thais. Even the royal family often takes vacation there.

In order to feel Thailand completely you should go off the main land and visit the islands. These islands are famous for their crystal clear water, golden beaches and beautiful palm trees. Although Koh Chang is the biggest island it is still not very popular among tourists. If you are looking for a really popular island then visit Phi Phi islands and find out how Leonardo DiCaprio felt while he was filming “The Beach”.

Phuket, Koh Samet, Koh Samui… these are all places worth visiting.

While you are in Thailand visiting a Buddhist temple is a must. There are hundreds of temples (or Wat as Thais call them) across the country. Wat Phra Kaew in Bangkok is certainly among the most popular temples in Thailand and it is visited by hundreds of visitors and besides that you can see local believers praying there. You should also visit the National museum, a floating market or attend a Thai boxing match. Don’t forget to visit the Royal Palace too, because Thailand is a kingdom after all.
